When I was in Mayrhofen I walked past a toy shop that had five or six model pisten bullys, all high quality looking and with a fair amount of detail. I visited the shop and looked at the models but decided that it would have been difficult to haul the model back without it getting trashed. I noted the model company Siku (from Germany) and did a google search back home. Sure enough, I found the website and the little model in Amazon, but I also found a store on ebay selling higher quality models like the one in the above picture. Mostly metal instead of plastic, and certainly meant to display on a desk or in a professional diaorama. I started to poke around one website www.diecastmodels.co and found a treasure trove of models, all working and high quality with metal casting. They have a model crane (based on a real crane made by the Manitowoc company out of Wisconsin) that is over nine feet tall when fully put together. Holy cow.
I am going to get the pisten bully with the winch. Looks cool.
