Alex Von Salad, the man, the myth, on the bus to Les Menuires. We arrived in Geneva about 2 hours before but managed to drink a six-pack between the two of us before getting on the bus.
One of the many towns we passed through on our way to Les Menuires and the Three Valleys.
Bus station in Moutiers, France waiting for the bus to you-know-where. AVS trying to get as much advertising for Liberty Skis as he can.
Our hotel room at Hotel Le Menuire. A very comfortable three star hotel, and they gave us a deal on the room even with AVS staying with me.
First night at hotel dinner wine number one. Was an excellent wine for about 20 bucks.
French toilet paper. WTF? For this we save their asses in WW2? Jesus. Paper napkins from McDonald's have more substance. The poke through was always an issue.
Standing on top of the ** quad chair with the start of the ** piste on the right. Looking southwest.
Looking west down the Les 3 Marches piste. Pretty wide (about 100 meters) and nice and uncrowded. Nice mellow pitch of about 20 degrees steepness so you don't get going too fast.
One of the wonderful signposts telling the piste names. I love these things. Note the boorish guy in front; opps! That's my friend AVS! Sorry buddy.
The Le Roc Des 3 Marches bar/restaurant. Nice place for a drink and bit to eat. Never very crowded when I was there but it was the last of the season.
Looking at Meribel valley from the ** piste. Nice and rolly ski run, about 75 meters wide and 18-20 degrees in steepness.
Looking back up the ** piste about one third the way down. The *** chair is in the background.
Signpost on the col between Courchevel and Meribel. Aiguille du Fruit in the background (the pointy banana shaped mountain, ergo the funny french name I think).
