Standing at the top of the Murtel-Corvatsch tram at the Corvatsch Bergstation (3303 meters). Piz Roseg (3937 meters) in the background.
Stitch photo with (left to right) Corvatsch Bergstation, Piz Tschierva, Piz Morteratsch, Piz Bernina (tallest peak in group at 4048.6 meters, tallest peak in Engadine region), Piz Roseg, Piz Corvatsch, and part of viewing platform of Corvatsch Bergstation.
Part of Corvatsch Bergstation and Piz Tschierva in middle.
Looking at Lej da Segl with Maloja at the western end of the lake. This is the headwaters of the En River. Over the pass takes you down into Italy.
Looking north across En valley from Corvatsch Bergstation with climbing pole at top. Crazy.
Looking at Corviglia ski area across the valley. You can see the runs fairly easily.
Top of Corvatsch Bergstation and Piz Corvatsch in background.
Top of the Standard ski run on the Corvatsch Glacier. Piz Roseg on the right, Piz Bernina in the middle, and Piz Morteratsch on the left.
Another view of the Standard ski run. It was pretty wide on top but it narrowed right down to about one cat width wide. Pretty darn icy in places also.
Closeup of Piz Tschierva (3546 meters) on left, Piz Morteratsch (3751 meters).
Closeup of Piz Bernina (left), and Piz Roseg (right).
Piz Roseg on right. Such big mountains but not very tall, if that makes sense.
Stitch photo of Piz Corvatsch and other peaks in distance. The photo gives a great sense of the vista of the area.
Stitch photo of the ski run. Not much to see but you do have to keep you speed up to make it up a small hill.
Looking down the Georgi ski run. Pretty flat with some uphill sections at the bottom. You certainly needed speed to make it up the hills. It did offer a nice alternative to the broad Corvatsch Glacier and the Standard run. However, off-piste was a bad idea with the thin cover.
Another stitch photo looking south. In the middle of the photo are some ski tracks on the slope. I have no idea how they got there (the skiers, that is.)
Looking south at the glaciers and peaks. Gorgeous view.
Piz Bernina in the middle and surrouding peaks. I kinda went crazy with the photos of these peaks. I have never seen their like before, even with living in Jackson, Wyoming.
Standing on the edge of a 100 foot cliff looking east at the peaks.
Nice looking slope but I didn't want to wander out there because I just didn't know what was lurking under the snow.
